The Company “DI TEX / STUDIO MORRIS” was founded in 1962 Mrs. Tecla Sala in partnership with her husband Mr. Giovanni Cazzaniga, who had graduated in 1946 from the “Istituto Nazionale Setificio” in Como. This maintained the traditions and connection with weaving in the family.
The first direction of the business was “messincarta” reading (the graphic representation of weave thread) making of “vincenzi” boards and keyboard hardware which were bared on ideas and improved by Giovanni Cazzaniga himself.
In time the business grew and Client orders for “messincarta’s” and sketches reflected this growth.
In 1975 electronic hardware was acquired to read papertapes (Meltex) and to transfer on to continuous paper.
Their daughter Maria Cazzaniga had graduated in 1980 from the “Istituto Nazionale Setificio” in Como, following her father’s footsteps. After an induction period in her father firm, she founded Studio Morris, working in cooperation with him.
In 1988 all the technological hardware was updated including the installation of CAD systems.
There are currently nine workstations with the latest state-of-the art software with ten staff working in the studio.
